Burklund’s Beliefs 6/27/22

Every-so-often I give 5 bite sized thoughts on 5 different topics.

1- Does anyone else have the inability to enjoy music like they once did? I have become addicted to listening to podcasts. I cant quit. I try to listen to music on my commute to work. I have so many interests in movies, sports, media, sports media, and the news. I want to consume all the information I want on these topics. I feel bad sometimes, because as a kid and High schooler, music was vital. I need to challenge myself of a week free of podcasts, and just go back to music, learn some new music, and play my favorites.

2- I am trying to get healthier, drinking water is a thing I need to improve on. I will strive for 73 oz. No carbs. all water. Time to get serious about my health. If anyone has any health tips, don’t be afraid to contact me!

3- Im just going to try and enjoy the final days of Willson Contreras in a Cubs uniform. I’ll never forget the energy and spark he gave the Cubs. It could be a 3-1 losing game in the 8th inning and he could get a one out walk. He would bat flip and clap, and I thought that would always be the thing the Cubs would need to win the game. His Fathers Day homerun will always be in the memory bank of Cubs fandom. Thank you Willy. I will root for you to win a World Series title.

4- I was having a conversation via a group text with some friends. We were talking about biggest teams in Chicago in regards to popularity. Here is my list:
1- Bears- 1985, and the Bear culture is LARGE
2- Bulls (Huge contingency with a star).
3- Cubs- Saw how huge 2016 went. They can jump the Bulls when the Bulls are just mediocre.
4- Blackhawks- Saw how the city reacted when they won 3 Stanley Cups.
5- White Sox- 2005 was insane, but the city forgets they exist at times.
6- Fire- They need a top Euro star to be relevant

When the female teams are good, I think the Sky and Red Stars can become the top team in the city during their playoff runs.

5- I cant believe I never gave A.P. Bio a shot. The show starts off slow, but once you get to know the characters of Glen Howerton’s, and Patton Oswalt’s the show is darkly funny, and has a hint of endearment. If you have Peacock, give it a shot! Its like a more modern day Napoleon Dynamite with how awkward things can get with Glen’s students.
