Every day I will give bite sized opinions on 5 random topics.

1- The Cubs played at the most random game time on Tuesday. They played a 3:12 CT game. I questioned why it was so specific. I came to learn from Cubs Twitter that they were playing on 412 day. Thats Pittsburgh’s area code. So 4:12 ET makes a lot more sense. Thats such a great idea. I love things that have such a tie to the community. St. Louis has 3/14 day and its very very successful for tourism and local business.

2- There should be a lot of storm activity today across the state. I make one simple plea to those that are going to watch network television. Dont get upset at the local meteorologist that breaks into your favorite show. The weatherman isnt there to just state the weather, he is there in these moments to save lives. Ask any person from a town who has been hit by a massive tornado, what their number wish is: Its that they wish they had more time to get to that crawl space or basement. This is the way local meteorologists have the ability to get the message out to so many people all at once.

4- Do you ever get in a rut in terms of audio? I love podcasts. I also really miss listening to music. I force myself every Friday to not listen to a single piece of informative audio. I need an escape at some point. I just feel guilty if Im not staying informed about news, sports, and everything else.

5- Its still amazing to see Bill Self holding up the orange and blue. I will never dislike this man. He brought Illini basketball to the next level, and I will always respect him for it.
