Burklund’s Beliefs 4/9

Every day I will give you some unsolicited opinions I have about 5 random topics in bite sized form.

  1. Its truly amazing that baseball is back, and that fans in the stands are to capacity. We dont have cardboard cutouts, 5 seats inbetween families, and we have normal press conferences so fans can get better stories about their favorite players.
  2. The town of Carbondale is truly a melting pot in Southern Illinois. You can see a hipster near Longbranch, to a redneck buying his newest gun at Rural King. It might be one of my favorite things about Southern Illinois culture. Carbondale is like the Austin Texas of Southern Illinois. #KeepCarbondaleWeird!
  3. Pork Steak is a criminally underrated cut of meat. Its large, has some amazing fatty flavor, and in my opinion superior to the pork chop.
  4. The Apple TV+ Friday Night Baseball broadcast is very questionable. I love the analytics on the screen at all times. Makes you feel like youre in a film room. The rest of the broadcast needs some kinks to be worked through, but I think that will happen. Those broadcasters are very smart. Just need reps.
  5. I really do wonder if who is watching the new USFL right now? Its going up against baseball opening weekend, The Masters, NBA playoff pushes, and life itself. No one wants to see sports be played in empty stadiums anymore, people want energy! The USFL isnt giving them that. Wake me up when the Battlehawks are one. Ka Kaw!
